Parent Services
We offer parent training workshops delivered in preschools, early childhood settings, and community venues to support families in building confidence and practical skills to support their child’s communication development.
Workshop topics include:
School readiness skills
Language development and early communication
Speech pathology information sessions (what to expect and when to seek support)
Supporting speech sound development (articulation)
Understanding and supporting stuttering
Supporting social communication skills
Early literacy and pre-reading skills
Strategies to support communication through play and everyday routines
Autism and communication support strategies for home
AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) introduction and modelling strategies
We also offer:
Parent evening workshops (clinic or community venues) covering general speech and language development with Q&A
Early intervention parent coaching programs delivered over multiple sessions
Stuttering support workshops (including Lidcombe Program information and parent training)
School-age communication support workshops for learning, listening and classroom skills
Literacy and reading readiness workshops focusing on phonological awareness and early spelling skills
These sessions are practical, easy to understand, and designed to give parents simple, evidence-based strategies they can use at home to support their child’s communication development.
